Ingredients of Mishti Doi
- Prepare 1/2 litre of full cream milk/low fat milk (either one of the two).
- It's 100 gms of jaggery chopped.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of sugar.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of fresh beaten curd.
- You need as needed of Kesar strands for garnish.
Mishti Doi instructions
- Boil milk in a saucepan. Stir occasionally & let it boil on medium flame for few minutes..
- Add the chopped jaggery, sugar & mix well so that everything is well combined. Simmer on low flame for 1-2 minutes. Turn off the heat..
- Let the mixture cool down lil bit. (U dip ur finger in the milk and feel warm not hot & thats accurate temperature to add the beaten curd).
- Now add the beaten curd in the milk mixture &. Whisk well..
- Now pour the mixture in earthen/terracotta pots (for best results). Cover with aluminium foil & let it set in a warm place..
- Refrigerate after Mishti doi is completely set. Serve with meals or have it like a dessert !!.
