Ingredients of Tex's English Chippy-Style Gravy
- It's 3 tablespoons of Bisto Best gravy granules.
- You need 600 mls (2 1/2 cups) of hot water.
- You need 1 of beef OXO Cube.
- It's 2-3 teaspoons of ketchup.
- Prepare 1-2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of malt vinegar.
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of paprika.
- You need 2 of large pinches salt.
- It's 2 of large pinches of MSG (optional).
- You need To taste of black pepper to season.
Tex's English Chippy-Style Gravy instructions
- Mix all the dry ingredients in a jug, and add the hot water. Stir well, then add the ketchup, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well again.
- Place the jug in the middle of the microwave. Heat on full for 1½ min until boiling. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes then stir well and repeat.
- Next, cook your meal (fish, chips and mushy peas in my case 😺) while gravy reduces. Bring the gravy to a simmer in the microwave a few minutes before you're ready to serve. Taste and adjust if necessary.
- Plate up your chippy grub, so peas first....
